Basketball Recap: First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Takes a Loss

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest lost against Greenwood Christian last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders came up short against the Greenwood Christian Hawks, falling 64-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Despite the loss, First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest still got an impressive performance from Harrison Boyce, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those 21 points gave Boyce a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Godsey, who posted four points and five boards.

Leading Greenwood Christian to victory were Isaiah Scott-Palacios and Ty Kennedy. Scott-Palacios dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds, while Kennedy dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. The contest was Scott-Palacios' 12th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Leland Reed, who scored nine points.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 33.1% in those games and 25.5% outside of them. As for Greenwood Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest will take on Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenwood Christian, they will face off against Spartanburg Day at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
