Homefires fell just short of First Baptist Christian by a score of 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Homefires has suffered yet this season.
When it comes to explaining why Homefires lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Chesnut. Despite the final result, he scored 31 points. That was a full 56.4% of Homefires' points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Reagan Rademacher, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Homefires and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for First Baptist Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Homefires will head out on the road to square off against Illinois Central Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Baptist Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
