The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Alden-Hebron Green Giants on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Giants. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Schaumburg Christian in their matchups with the Green Giants: they've now lost six in a row.
Schaumburg Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephanie Tenuto, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Tenuto is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carynton Hobson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Schaumburg Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Alden-Hebron, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-8.
Schaumburg Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Alden-Hebron, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Lions at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Harvest Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday.
