After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last five matchups, The Bolles Bulldogs finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were beaten by Berkeley Prep 42-7. Bolles was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
DJ Moore threw for 48 yards and a touchdown. Corbyn Fordham was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Emmett Grzebin rushed for 74 yards.
Leading Berkeley Prep to victory were Dallas Golden and Joseph Troupe. Golden rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while Troupe rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Golden was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Luby Jones jr made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Bolles' defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Berkeley Prep, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Bolles will be playing at home against Bishop Kenny at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Berkeley Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Middleton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Middleton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Berkeley Prep is ranked 40th).
