Marion County extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 16-8. They came out on top against the Adair County Indians by a score of 14-11. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Tuesday.

Landon Craig and Connor Cox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Craig struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Cox pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Craig a new career-high. At the plate, Craig went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Cox went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Marion County let Wyatt Thompson and Noah Spalding run wild. Thompson went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Spalding went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Trey Rakes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Marion County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
As for Adair County, they now have a losing record of 16-17. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-17.
On Adair County's side, Bryce Russell and Jasper Kemp did some serious damage despite the final result: Russell got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Kemp went 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The Indians are 5-1 when Russell posts three or more RBI, but 11-16 otherwise. Bentley Petty also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Coming up, Marion County will be playing in front of their home fans against Fort Knox at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Adair County, they will head out to challenge Metcalfe County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
