Somers is 8-2 against Brewster since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tuskers will host the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Somers will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Somers' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over John Jay. The one-run effort marked the Tuskers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The result came thanks to Emily Boyle's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Somers' victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gianna Peanamanda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Peanamanda is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Meanwhile, Brewster had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Walter Panas 16-8 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.
Brewster got a massive performance out of Emma Mariella, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave Mariella a new career-high. Alanah King was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Brewster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walter Panas only posted an OBP of .333.
Somers' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Brewster, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Somers beat Brewster 4-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Tuskers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
