Baseball Recap: Elgin Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Elgin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Lindsay on Saturday. Elgin was the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over Lindsay. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brody Morrison was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Hilliary, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

The victory (which was Elgin's sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lindsay, their loss dropped their record down to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin will head out to take on Lawton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lindsay, they will venture away from home to square off against Kingston at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Kingston will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lindsay surely won't give up without a fight.
