The Aspermont Hornets suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Newcastle, falling 76-44. Aspermont was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Newcastle apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2020.
Aspermont lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carson Guidry, who scored six points along with six steals and five rebounds. Guidry is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Johnson, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Aspermont and nudges their season record down to 14-9. As for Newcastle, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aspermont will face off against Paint Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paint Creek is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Newcastle, they will head out on the road to challenge Graford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Graford's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
