The Rancho Mirage Rattlers will head out on the road to face off against the Xavier Prep Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Mirage is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Last Friday, Rancho Mirage was able to grind out a solid victory over La Quinta, taking the game 27-14.
Jeremiah Williams got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns. Edward Johnson also helped out with an impressive 134 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Rancho Mirage's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Mason Hershberger and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Xavier Prep came up short against Palm Springs on Friday and fell 21-14. Xavier Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rancho Mirage's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Xavier Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Rancho Mirage lost to Xavier Prep on the road by a decisive 55-41 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Rancho Mirage, Ryder Ruiz (who rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 214 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
