The Christian Learning Center Mustangs are still undefeated this season after their match against the Heartland Mustangs on Saturday, but the Heartland Mustangs came as close as anyone has to beating them. Christian Learning Center narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Heartland 41-38. Given Christian Learning Center's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in Kansas, while Heartland is ranked 281st in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rylie Allen was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Micah Bean, who scored seven points.
Despite the loss, Heartland still got an impressive performance from Esther Archibald, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Jones, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Christian Learning Center's victory bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Heartland, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Christian Learning Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Heartland also has no future games currently scheduled.
