The McDowell Titans will challenge the North Buncombe Black Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McDowell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, McDowell didn't have quite enough to beat Patton and fell 3-2. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

McDowell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Brown, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Brown's first of the season.

Meanwhile, North Buncombe put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Madison get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Black Hawks, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Stowe, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bannen Winker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

North Buncombe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison struck out nine times.

North Buncombe's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for McDowell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

McDowell came out on top in a nail-biter against North Buncombe in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does McDowell have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Buncombe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
