Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Heritage couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 77-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Birdville Hawks. The Coyotes' loss signaled the end of their 16-game winning streak.

Heritage lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bryson Howard, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 19 boards. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Lomax, who shot 47% from the field en route to 27 points.

Even though they lost, Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 32-5. As for Birdville, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 35-3.

Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Birdville, they will challenge West Brook at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Birdville has given up an average of 50.2 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
