The Jefferson Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Auburn, falling 88-38. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 294th, while Auburn is ranked third).
When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jakob Bolli. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bolli scored 15 or more points. Josias Kpontont was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Jefferson bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Auburn, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against Kent-Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Auburn, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Auburn Riverside at 7:30 p.m.
