The Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles will face off against the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, Elkhart Christian Academy made easy work of South Bend Career Academy and carried off a 3-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Elkhart Christian Academy was: they took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-7, 25-11.

Elkhart Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Kiara Trovatore, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces gave Trovatore a new career-high. Myla Hanlon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
They weren't the only good server: Elkhart Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. They are 2-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Canterbury hadn't done well against Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 3-0 win.
Fort Wayne Canterbury never let Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 28-26, 25-16.
Fort Wayne Canterbury's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Elkhart Christian Academy took their victory against Fort Wayne Canterbury when the teams last played back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
