Rocky Ford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Vazquez-Gallegos, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Vazquez-Gallegos is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Shayne Gonzales, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Leading Hoehne to victory were Nathan Zamora and Levon Bachicha. Zamora scored ten points along with three steals, while Bachicha dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Bachicha is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Bobby Terry was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Rocky Ford dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hoehne, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Rocky Ford will head out on the road to take on Peyton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Peyton is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season. As for Hoehne, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against La Veta at 4:30 p.m. La Veta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
