Riverdale is 0-10 against Mineral Point since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Chieftains will face off against the Pointers at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Riverdale came out on top against New Lisbon on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Chieftains were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Rockets.
Riley Kinney made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Kinney was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mineral Point came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Cubans as they made off with a 12-4 victory.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Riverdale hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mineral Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Riverdale suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Mineral Point when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Chieftains avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
