Bassick has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Amistad Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bassick and the Wolves are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
On Thursday, Bassick came up short against the Mustangs and fell 45-32. While losing is never fun, Bassick can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Mustangs are ranked 38th).
Meanwhile, Amistad took their match on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 48-8 victory over the Owls.
Fatema Thomas and LaShaya Patterson were among the main playmakers for Amistad as the former scored 16 points along with three steals and two blocks and the latter scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Patterson is crushing the block category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Latoya Craig was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five steals.
Bassick's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Amistad, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Bassick came up short against the Wolves in their previous meeting back in January, falling 42-31. Can Bassick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
