Assumption is 9-1 against Berwick since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Assumption put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They blew past A.J. Ellender 16-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Isabella Domingue made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Domingue was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lilia Alleman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Zoey Rozell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Assumption always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Berwick got themselves on the board against South Terrebonne on Saturday, but South Terrebonne never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.
Like Assumption, Berwick also got a great game from a two-way player: Shelby Taylor. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Taylor has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Diboll, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Ann Marie Beadle was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Assumption's record now sits at 7-16. As for Berwick, their record is now 15-5.
Assumption got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 against Berwick by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
