Peotone is 0-10 against Herscher since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Blue Devils will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Peotone's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Herscher's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Peotone is returning to their home field after beating Grant Park on theirs, despite the fact Grant Park has dominated at home this season. The Blue Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dragons on Friday, sneaking past 3-1. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Sophie Klawitter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mary Klawitter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Paisley Schnelle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Herscher came up short against Morris on Friday, falling 16-2. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Herscher saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Hartman (2028), who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Chloe Kinkade (2026), who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Peotone's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Herscher, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
Herscher's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Peotone has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 13.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Herscher, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Peotone keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
