Wellington's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylin Woods, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown. Woods was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 66 yards. Toney Collins also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Palm Beach Lakes, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington will take on Palm Beach Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Palm Beach Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wellington in Florida (Palm Beach Central is ranked 60th, while Wellington is ranked 436th). As for Palm Beach Lakes, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Royal Palm Beach at 6:30 p.m. Royal Palm Beach is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
