The Spooner Rails will take on the Cameron Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Spooner will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Spooner is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Ashland get on the board and left with a 22-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Rails, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Annalie Lindgren made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Spooner got a massive performance out of Layla Thompson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Thompson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Norah Focht, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Spooner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .732. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Cameron unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Stratford, falling 18-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Comets have suffered since April 21st.
Chloe Larson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Rayna Schroeder was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Spooner's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Cameron, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6-1.
Spooner got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Cameron by a conclusive 8-1 score. Do the Rails have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
