The Edison Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Newark Valley Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Edison and three for Newark Valley.
Last Saturday, Edison was the victim of a rough 52-27 defeat at the hands of Jasper-Troupsburg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Edison has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Newark Valley suffered a rough 70-47 loss at the hands of Charles O. Dickerson last Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Newark Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 411th, while Charles O. Dickerson is ranked 78th).
Edison's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Newark Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
