The Voyager Vikings's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-51 win over Falls Lake. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Voyager also won the last time the pair played on December 7th.
Voyager had a senior duo take command as Dwight Anderson scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and Michael Gales scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Cameron, who scored ten points.
Voyager's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Falls Lake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Voyager and Vance Charter will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Vance Charter is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Falls Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clover Garden School at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Clover Garden School is ranked 597th, while Falls Lake is ranked 611th).
