Kit Carson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shay Rady, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Rady has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Johnson, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points and five steals.
Meanwhile, Springfield made easy work of Holly on Saturday and carried off a 61-39 victory. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Springfield's win came from a few key players Kit Carson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Madison Varando, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points and six steals. Bay Ellis was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to ten boards and six assists.
Springfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Springfield pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Kit Carson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Kit Carson has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Springfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Kit Carson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Springfield in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory. Does Kit Carson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Springfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
