The Kenston Bombers had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Geauga on Wednesday and snuck past 39-36. For Kenston, this counts as revenge for the 50-39 loss West Geauga walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Kenston was led to victory by Aurora Young and Amy Jarmolowicz. Young scored ten points along with six rebounds, while Jarmolowicz scored ten points along with five rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Morgan Cicek was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Kenston's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for West Geauga, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Kenston will head out on the road to face off against Buchtel at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Geauga will finish 2023 at home by hosting Aurora at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Aurora presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Geauga in Ohio (Aurora is ranked 122nd, while West Geauga is ranked 568th).
