Softball Recap: Dearborn Sets Scoring Season-High Against Cabrini

Dearborn scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 25-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cabrini Monarchs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 11-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Isabella Palise stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Sophia Ball was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

Dearborn is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Cabrini, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Coming up, Dearborn will host Wayne Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Zebras have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cabrini, they will face off against Detroit Cristo Rey at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
