The East Troy Trojans will square off against the St. John's Northwestern Military Academy Lancers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. East Troy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
East Troy will face St. John's Northwestern Military Academy after dropping another heartbreaker against Badger on Monday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. The Trojans fell 9-5 to the Badgers. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Badgers: they've now lost three in a row.
Jaylen Hoffman was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Brayden Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let St. Anthony get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The Lancers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024 (when they won 10-0).
Jaxon Lettenberger was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Matthias Ericksen was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Damien Dax was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
St. John's Northwestern Military Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
St. John's Northwestern Military Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for East Troy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
East Troy took their win against St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
