Basketball Recap: Eagle Ridge Academy Takes a Loss

Eagle Ridge Academy played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 65-24 loss at the hands of the Denver Christian Thunder. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Thunder are ranked 21st).

When it comes to explaining why Eagle Ridge Academy lost, don't look at Jaz Greenwood. Despite the final result, she posted seven points along with five rebounds and five steals. Greenwood is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ella Chatigny also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Denver Christian was led to victory by Kamiree Fuller and Natalie Bohannon. Fuller went 6 for 13 on her way to 14 points and five steals, while Bohannon almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Anna Everett was another key player, putting up seven points.

Eagle Ridge Academy's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Denver Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Eagle Ridge Academy has already played their next match, a 56-28 loss against Jefferson Academy on the 31st. As for Denver Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-15 victory against Stargate School on the 31st.
