Whitwell is 9-1 against Sale Creek since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers duke it out with the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Whitwell has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 23.
Last Saturday, Whitwell came up short against South Pittsburg and fell 42-35.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Stephanie Miller, who posted 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Callie Brock, who en route to 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Sale Creek fought the good fight in their overtime game against Copper Basin on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars.
Whitwell will have to contain Trinity Smith as she made an impact in Sale Creek's last game. She scored eight points in addition to nine boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Holland, who put up 13 points.
Even though they lost, Sale Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Whitwell's record is now 8-14. As for Sale Creek, their record is now 17-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Whitwell has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 26.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sale Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Whitwell took a serious blow against Sale Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 53-8. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Smith, who on her way to 18 points and five steals.
