The Jordan Falcons pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The contest between Jordan and Farmville Central wasn't particularly close, with Jordan falling 77-62. While losing is never fun, Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while Farmville Central is ranked eighth).
Farmville Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mykal "MJ" Williams led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Alex Moye, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Farmville Central, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Durham Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Farmville Central and Ayden - Grifton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
