Basketball Recap: Basha Skates Past Apollo with Ease

It's playoff time, and Basha had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Apollo Hawks 64-27 on Thursday. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Basha found their leader in freshman Amira Reynolds, who went 10-for-11 on her way to 22 points along with six boards and five steals. Reynolds is becoming a predictor of Basha's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 11-12 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Terrais-Joi Coleman, who posted ten points and three steals.

Basha's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Apollo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, Basha will challenge Williams Field at 7:00 p.m. on February 27th. Apollo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
