Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder walked away with it. They took down All Saints' Academy 42-28 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Out-of-Door Academy as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Leading Out-of-Door Academy to victory were Jack Meyers and Allen Clark. Meyers rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns, while Clark rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown.
Out-of-Door Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. All Saints' Academy's QB won't forget Thomas Perez anytime soon given Perez sacked him 2.5 times.
All Saints' Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Trey Bell and Claudarius Bell. Bell threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns, while Bell picked up 184 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Bell was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 61 yards.
Out-of-Door Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for All Saints' Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Out-of-Door Academy will head out on the road to face off against St. Edward's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. All Saints' Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
