The Hanover Hawks will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Gloucester Fishermen at 7:00 p.m. Hanover has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 264 points over their last seven games.
Hanover can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-13 win over North Quincy on the road. With Hanover ahead 35-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Ben Scalzi was the offensive standout of the matchup as he threw for 155 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Mehki Bryan, who picked up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last game, Gloucester made sure to put some points up on the board against Beverly on Friday. Gloucester was the clear victor by a 42-21 margin over Beverly. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Gloucester just coasted through the last quarter.
John Gucciardi was a one-man wrecking crew for Gloucester as he rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Widtfeldt, who gained 47 total yards and two touchdowns.
Hanover's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.2 points per game. As for Gloucester, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
