4A Region I District 8 recap October 29, 2013
Burleson scaled the state rankings by moving to 488 from 527 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region I District 8. The Elks were able to move up by topping University 51-21.
Waco took down Joshua 61-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Traynham Moore threw for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
REGGIE KINCADE was a beast in the backfield as Everman beat Centennial.
KINCADE was a passing and rushing force as the Bulldogs bested the Spartans.
Tayvon Glover was the best receiver in the league this week as Crowley topped Cleburne. Glover tallied 7 receptions for 125 yards. Michael Williams helped Crowley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 53 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Matt Marner of the Eagles is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,319. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Tyler Taylor. The Waco star has 29 catches for 649 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Everman takes on the Yellowjackets. As it stands, Dale Keeling's team is in second, while Cleburne is in fourth.
Burleson made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,670 from 5,187. The improvement was largely due to a 51-21 victory over the Trojans last week.
