Lincoln-Way Central has gone 9-1 against Bradley-Bourbonnais recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Boilermakers at 4:30 p.m. The last three games Lincoln-Way Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Monday, Lincoln-Way Central narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sandburg 4-3. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by just one run.

Lisabella Dimitrijevic made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Teagan Berkshire was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ellie McLaughlin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bradley-Bourbonnais and Andrew meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Boilermakers walked away with an 11-8 win over the Thunderbolts. With that victory, the Boilermakers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Lincoln-Way Central, Bradley-Bourbonnais also got a great game from a two-way player: Lydia Hammond. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Hammond was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Woolman, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Abbie Hofbauer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Lincoln-Way Central pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lincoln-Way Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bradley-Bourbonnais struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lincoln-Way Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Bradley-Bourbonnais when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Boilermakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
