The Stone Tomcats had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They secured a 41-35 W over Gautier. Given Stone's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Gators are ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jabori Moye, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JaKobey Johnson, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Stone has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Gautier, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Stone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gautier will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Bulldogs at 8:30 p.m.
