The Seminole Warhawks will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Sebring Blue Streaks at 7:15 p.m. on January 27th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Seminole beat Boca Ciega 71-59.
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Sebring made off with a 66-65 win over Lakeland. The win was all the more spectacular given Sebring's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Lakeland is ranked 66th).
Sebring can attribute much of their success to Sylvester Lewis, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 16 blocks, and KJ Turner, who scored 32 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. Lewis hasn't dropped below two blocks for 14 straight games. Another player making a difference was Tayvion Jones, who scored five points along with seven assists and five steals.
Seminole pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Sebring, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
