Southeast Career Tech waltzed into their game on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. Everything went their way against the Legacy Longhorns as they made off with a 10-4 win. The Roadrunners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Asa Briggs tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Springfield, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Southeast Career Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Southeast Career Tech pushed their record up to 19-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Legacy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Career Tech will take on Green Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Legacy, they will square off against Cheyenne at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Longhorns' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Desert Shields have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
