The Timber Creek Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Southlake Carroll Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Timber Creek is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
While Timber Creek couldn't quite beat Keller Central on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 24-point defeat they were dealt last Tuesday. Timber Creek fell just short of Keller Central by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite their defeat, Timber Creek saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luke Stern, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. Dj Bell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Southlake Carroll posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 76-46 victory over Fossil Ridge. Given Southlake Carroll's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Fossil Ridge is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timber Creek has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Southlake Carroll, they pushed their record up to 16-6 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Timber Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Southlake Carroll in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win.
