It's playoff time, and First Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. John Lutheran Saints on Tuesday, sneaking past 11-9. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Collin Herrell was incredible, going 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Colin Bryan was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Herrell wasn't the only one making solid contact: First Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.

First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for St. John Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season.

First Academy will head out to take on Mount Dora Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. John Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
