They walked away with a 57-46 win over Del Campo. Given Union Mine's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Del Campo is ranked 840th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Union Mine was led to victory by Nate Sweet and Isaac Zmerzlikar. Sweet scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Zmerzlikar dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Zmerzlikar is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Ethan Gines was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Union Mine pushed their record up to 12-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Del Campo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Union Mine will be home for the holidays to greet Golden Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Golden Sierra is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Del Campo, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodcreek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Woodcreek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
