Basketball Recap: Fairfax Christian Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Evergreen Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Fairfax Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Evergreen Christian Eagles by a score of 74-63. The victory was familiar territory for the Cardinals who have now won four matchups in a row.

Leading Fairfax Christian to victory were Messiah Dixon and Frank Siaca Bey. Dixon went 8 of 11 en route to 19 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Siaca Bey went 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Siaca Bey's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Fitch, who posted nine points.

Fairfax Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Evergreen Christian still got an impressive performance from Jafet Valencia, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. Valencia is becoming a predictor of Evergreen Christian's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 17-6 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Cole Forbrich was another key player, putting up eight points.

Fairfax Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.0 points per game. As for Evergreen Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.

As for Evergreen Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-44 loss against Clinton Grace Christian on the 30th.
