This season hasn't been kind to the Wakulla Christian School Saints, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wewahitchka on Friday. Wakulla Christian School was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wewahitchka apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Wakulla Christian School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Korey Paynter, who scored 15 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Paynter has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Bourgeois, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Wakulla Christian School's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-11. As for Wewahitchka, their win ended a 12-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wakulla Christian School will take on Byne Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wewahitchka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ponce De Leon at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponce De Leon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Wewahitchka likes a good challenge.
