Del Sol's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Western Warriors as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Sunshine Rivera made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Scarlet St. Clair, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Melanie Padilla, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Del Sol was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western only posted a batting average of .333.
The victory snapped Del Sol's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-7 record. As for Western, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
