Suburban recap November 13, 2013
Norwalk's Rashaad Penny rumbled for the longest rushing play in Suburban this season in his game against Mayfair last week. Penny scampered for 86 yards on the play and finished with 284 on the day as his team beat the Monsoons.
La Mirada moved up to 234 from 266 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Matadores were able to move up by besting Artesia 41-13.
Sebastian Sanchez threw for 261 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Andrew Gose had an awesome week catching the football as Bellflower beat Glenn. He caught 7 passes for 218 yards.
LaMarr Crowder was a passing and rushing force as Cerritos lost to Whittier Christian.
Crowder was a beast in the backfield as the Dons fell to the Heralds.
Gose was the best receiver in the league this week as the Buccaneers defeated the Eagles. Gose tallied 7 receptions for 218 yards. Rudy Sanchez helped Bellflower's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 27 yards.
Bellflower's Sanchez and Gose led Suburban in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Sanchez has thrown for 1,151 yards this season, while Gose has 39 catches for 762 yards. Penny from Norwalk leads the league in rushing with 1,748 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, jesse ceniceros' team beat Mayfair 41-36. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
