The Leadore Mustangs had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Grace Lutheran 61-47 on Friday. The win was just what Leadore needed coming off of a 64-44 loss in their prior matchup.
Leadore's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Ayers, who scored 13 points along with six assists and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Mason Herbst, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Leadore's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Grace Lutheran, they bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Leadore won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Watersprings at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Watersprings presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Leadore in Idaho (Watersprings is ranked 47th, while Leadore is ranked 150th). As for Grace Lutheran, they will head out on the road to challenge Clark County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
