After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Iredell, The Walnut Springs Hornets were happy to have found some success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 74-26 win over Bluff Dale at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Walnut Springs' eight-point performance the game before.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Saucedo, who threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Saucedo hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Saucedo, who gained 152 total yards and a touchdown.
Walnut Springs' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Bluff Dale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Walnut Springs will take on Oglesby at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oglesby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Walnut Springs likes a good challenge. Bluff Dale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
