Leroy has gone 9-1 against Southern Choctaw recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bears will challenge the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Southern Choctaw will be up against a hot Leroy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to seven. The Bears blew past Marengo 60-20 on Friday. With the Bears ahead 38-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Leroy can attribute much of their success to Ja'Kavien Collins, who gained 129 total yards and three touchdowns, and Jace Sellers, who threw for 252 yards and five TDs on only 19 passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave Sellers a new career-high. Keegan Giles helped Sellers out on the ground, picking up 33 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 68 yards on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Leroy's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Sawyer Sullivan, Braxston Roberts, and Micah Cox, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Marengo's side was Sullivan, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Choctaw). They claimed a resounding 60-8 victory over Fruitdale. The Indians have beaten the Pirates the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pirates has come to flipping the script.
Leroy better focus on containing Ray Bender and Christopher Bush as the pair were huge in Southern Choctaw's win. Bender rushed for 192 yards and three scores on only eight carries, while Bush rushed for 158 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Bender really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run. Another big playmaker for Southern Choctaw was Jerdarius Nickelson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Southern Choctaw was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Leroy's record now sits at 7-0. As for Southern Choctaw, their record is now 6-0.
Leroy took their win against Southern Choctaw in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 28-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
