While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Bakersfield Christian is ranked 150th).
Independence's loss came about despite a quality game from AMARIUS "AR" ROWEL, who scored 23 points. ROWEL's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Highland dropped their record down to 16-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
