George County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 32-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Hill Patriots. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by exactly seven points.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Branden Gautier, who rushed for 104 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Gautier got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 73 yards. Another back making a difference was Keion Riley, who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown.
George County's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Forest Hill, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9.
Coming up, George County will square off against Picayune at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
